Any thoughts on the iPad mini's non-retina display?

I recently shared my thoughts regarding the iPad mini's non-retina display on my personal blog, and was wondering what others thought of it. Do you think it was a reasonable decision by Apple to not include a Retina Display in the mini? Why do you think they decided to omit it from the final product?

I think that it was more of a strategic move for the future. The next iPad Mini update could very well have a retina display at the current cost, then they could bump down the current generation to a budget $249.99 price. That's just my theory though.

That's much the same as they've done with the full-size iPad, and it seems like a good move for Apple to make. Hopefully the Retina Display manufacturing technology will improve in the next year, meaning that costs will drop considerably. This will not only help the iPad lineup, but Apple's move to put Retina Displays in the Macs.

Unlike a lot of people I actually daw the Mini is a shop instead of just bashing it and I couldn't believe what all the fuss was about. The screen is very good for it size and the recent comments are very unjust.

I wouldn't hesitate in buying one if I was in the market for one.
