Jailbreaking Rookie

I have a quick question. I was looking to jailbreak my iphone 4s last evening, as I looked up what "jailbreaking" actually was. Yes, I understand that I am a little behind the time. I used the website of "unlocker-pro" and am pretty sure I was scammed out of 24.99 after doing some research on other sites of unhappy individuals that had done the same thing as myself. Do you know if this is a legitimate website?
I follow you guys religiously on Twitter and was hoping you may be able to help me out. Is there any way to currently Jailbreak an iphone 4s running iOS 6.0.1 right now? I saw that "Dream JB" is announcing that possibility tomorrow, but I wasn't sure if there was any way of doing it prior (i.e. even if it is a tethered way of doing it). I appreciate your time very much and am hoping that you guys would be able to guide me in the right direction! Could you email me back? Keep up the good work!
