iPhone 4 Front Camera Issue

tunemastertunemaster Posts: 1Member
Hello -

Today I noticed that there is something inside the front camera on my iPhone 4. It does not affect the usage and the camera seems to work fine, but it is annoying that something happened and I have no idea how. I have attached two pictures showing the camera...does anyone else have this issue? Do you think Apple would replace the phone under Applecare?

Thanks!

Honestly if it isn't affecting usage or picture quality they probably won't swap it as it is essentially cosmetic.

I've heard something similar from several friends that got iPhone 5 and after about a month their home buttons were very slightly recessed. Totally function properly, not misaligned etc and they were told that because it is a moving part it can happen and its 'within spec' and unless the button fails its not a defect and they can't swap for it. A couple of folks tried to get a manager to do it anyway and were told the same thing. Another tried calling Apple Care and they basically said they couldn't override the store decision.

    Hi!
I work on iPhones and have seen this same thing on some of my phones. It is most likely a piece of rubber/plastic that has slid out of place. If you get the $2 star screw driver, taking the back off and moving this back out of view would only take 2 minutes. Most people don't realize how easy it is to take the back cover off of an iPhone.
