Mac stalling and spinning ball --- any idea what's causing this?

Hello,
I'm not sure whats wrong with my Macbook pro running 10.7.5 If it matters specs are at the bottom. I constantly get the Spinning ball- stalling
I'm not sure if I'm running out of space on my HD or what else the problem coudl be. I deleteddarn huge Adobe programs to free up sapce and it ran super fast for a day, then started freezing up with te ball again. Emptied trash , etc, not sure what i need to do. I feel like im on a PC again and cant' stand it. Thanks
