Why did apple add an obligatory guest user in users and groups...in 10.7.5 upgrade?

Now, on start up, I have to look at two icons, choose one, wait and then click to input password before I can log in.
Before as an only user, it was quick. I only had to type in my password because the cursor was already in place…bingo I was in!
I don’t appreciate having extra steps and preferences forced on me.
This is clumsy, and intrusive. It’s not worthy of apple!

Change it back, we're adults. We can set our own preferences without your "help" !
The new interface is clumsy and intrusive !
Now a..."visitor"...can feel free to use my computer !

I'm a novice and someone was kind enough to point me to the solution to this "dilemma". Go to preferences>security and privacy>privacy>click to make changes>advanced>turn on "Disable restarting to Safari when screen is locked">OK>lock it back up and...you're back to a single icon
and a cursor in place, ready to go when you start up. the Mac support line did not know this.
