I just bought an ANDROID.

Reason number one is Samsung Galaxy S4 ROCKS.
Reason number two is iTunes SUCKS.
Reason number three is Kindle ROCKS.
Reason number four is Apple generally SUCKS.

I read on this site comments by someone who is trying to hack Kindle books so he can use them in iBooks because the Kindle app sucks. Well it doesn't. The Kindle app for iOS works very well, at least as well as iBooks. And at least Amazon and B&N provide an app to permit users to read their ebooks on any device. Apple apparently fears that if they do that, their iPhone and iPad users might switch to android or google or windows devices and take their overpriced ebooks with them. If you buy a Kindle ebook, you can read it on your Apple devices as well as Windows, Android, and I think any other ebook reader. With iBooks, you are F*#%&d out of using your iBooks unless you continue to have an iPhone or iPad.

We now know that Steve Jobs was The Man behind the ebooks price-fixing scam (even behind that stellar corporate citizen Newscorp) that is successfully making ebooks cost more than many paperbacks even thought the cost of production of another copy of an ebook is ZERO (and I suspect that the cost of the FIRST copy of an ebook probably doesn't involve any significant cost). The lawsuit against Apple over this issue is going to trial on June 4, 2013.

We also know that a lot of the Apple applications, such as Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, SUCK.

We know that you cannot change your Apple battery unless you send it back to Apple or find an authorized repair facility. I traded up each time a new version of iPhone came out because the battery was always getting weak, needing unreasonably frequent charges.

We also know that Apple is a sh#*ty polluting corporate citizen and sweatshop employer all over the world.

I could list more complaints about the Apples in my life and reasons I have fallen out of love, but I am tired of griping and you are probably tired of reading it.

But the bottom line for me is that I will take my losses and ditch a few thousand bucks of iBooks, iDevices and software such as Office, Photoshop, Acrobat, Quickbooks, VMWare, and more and, like a great many other former Apple users, move on to greener pastures with new (and generally better) devices made by other manufacturers.

I sure am glad I sold my Apple stock before it started to tumble.

Afterwards, the Software updater reports I have the same update still available. The SMC and Boot ROM versions have not updated to Revision TPVABBF0 as described either.
FileVault2 is enabled and I am running OS X 10.8.3.
I've tried to install it several times now with no luck. I tried the direct pkg install without Software Updater, still no go. There is a thread starting on the Apple Support Communities and some are saying this is still problem after disabling FileVault2 and doing a SMC reset.
Do you have any ideas on conquering this problem ?
